Tennis Courts
The Warrandyte Lions Club's
Tennis Courts are located in Lions Park, Yarra Street immediately west of the
bridge crossing the Yarra River. (Melways ref. 23 F 11) Two courts are
available for public use. In 1978 the area was in a very run down state and the
club undertook a project to restore the old tennis courts which had remained
unused for over 40 years. The undergrowth was removed and new "en-tous-cas"
was spread, new lines were marked and new nets installed. The courts are
maintained in excellent condition by the club.
Bookings can be made at the
nearby Landfield Real Estate (Mon to Sat) or the Warrandyte Bakery on Sundays. Regular
bookings for social groups can also be made at reduced hire rates by contacting
the secretary of the club or by email to
Lions Park Warrandyte also has
four undercover electric BBQs and a number of picnic tables beside the Yarra
River.
Combine tennis and a picnic for a great
day out in Warrandyte.
